FAQ

What should I expect at the shoot?

Before the Shoot:

  • Why do you need a consultation before the shoot?
We intend on building strong relationships with all our models.  By discussing the shoot in advance, we hope to give the model a better idea of who we are and where we want to go.  This should alleviate some of the stress and allow models to be more relaxed during the shoot.

  • Where are the shoots held?
The majority of shoots will be held in Ottawa, however we can shoot in Toronto or Montreal.  If you are within traveling distance to any of those cities, you are welcome to apply.

  • When will I get paid?
You will be paid in cash at the end of the shoot.  This is due to the fact that some models lack interest during the shoot if the payment is received beforehand.

  • How long will the shoot last?
Shoots can last anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, so please come mentally and physically prepared for the type of shoot booked.  For example, for an implied nude shoot, bring a bathrobe to feel comfortable during any short breaks.  For a longer shoot, bring a small snack and drink.  There will be a few short breaks in the shoot.

  • Do I need to provide proof of age?
You will be asked for proof of age.  We do not photograph models under 18 years of age. There are no exceptions to this rule.  Please remember to bring two forms of photo ID.  A driver’s license, health card, passport or birth certificate are acceptable.  We will not conduct the shoot without proof of age, we won't have the shoot and will need to reschedule.

  • What do I need to bring?
You need to bring some of your own clothes to model in.  We do this because they fit you and you're more comfortable in them.  Bring a few arrangements of clothes depending on the type of shoot and we will find the best ones for that shoot.

  • The model release?
Before the shoot you will be given the opportunity to ask questions.  Please ask any questions if you have them.  You will be required to sign a model release before the shoot agreeing to the terms of the shoot.  The model release will be explained to you.  The model release can be requested in advance of the shoot to make sure you fully understand the terms.

  • Can I bring a chaperone?
You are encouraged to bring a chaperone. Considering the length of the shoot, a chaperone should bring something to preoccupy oneself.  I usually have an assistant helping me with the shoots.  I would like to reiterate that you will, in any event, be quite safe and you will be treated with respect.

During the Shoot:

  • Can I refuse a certain pose?
You have the right to refuse any pose. Please remember that you are being paid to model but your satisfaction is extremely important and you will be treated with respect at all times.  Any photos that you feel are overly explicit for your standards will be cropped or not be used.  Do not agree to model anything you are not comfortable with, thinking you can just change your mind during the shoot. While you have every right to say "No" to something you are not comfortable with, you likely will have defaulted on a written or verbal agreement which you have made, and will earn a reputation of someone who can not be trusted.  Please state exactly exactly what you are willing to wear for the shoot.

After the Shoot:

  • Can I comment on the shoot to somebody other than the photographer?
After the shoot you will be given time to evaluate the shoot by filling out a feedback form.  This will help us to make our models more comfortable in future photography sessions.  Our aim is to make our models as comfortable as possible and have an enjoyable experience.

  • Can I request prints or a CD of some of the photos?
For a TFCD/TFP shoot, you will be given limited rights to all the images but I will retain the copyright.  For paid shoots, you can select up to 10 photos that will be placed on a cd for your own use.

  • Can I model more for you?
Of Course!!!  Anything is possible.  We are always coming up with new set designs, and different venues that we need models for.  We are looking for models to work with on a monthly or weekly basis.

  • What if I regret my decision to model?
If at any point in the future you should regret your decision to model for us, you may purchase all of the photos by refunding the modeling fee and the cost of the materials.  All negatives and prints of your photo shoot that are in our possession will then be destroyed.  However, if your photos have been published or promoted online, it may not be possible to remove all images and they will still have rights to use your image.
